About us

Brace's Bakery Limited has over recent years, transformed from a small local supplier to a well respected plant bread manufacturer. The company continues to go from strength to strength, winning a host of new contracts, continually reviewing its product range and steadily expanding into the south of England.

Established in 1902 by George Brace, Brace's is now run by the fourth generation of the Brace's family, Mark and Jonathan and overseen by their father Colin.

Colin Brace - Chairman: Colin joined the business in 1946. Today he still has an active role in the day to day running of the company. Colin took control of the business in 1979 when it was transferred from his father, Ernest Brace.

Mark Brace - Managing Director: Mark joined the family business in 1976. He became a major shareholder and was appointed Managing Director in 1986. Mark co-ordinates the Board of Directors.

Jonathan Brace - Director: Jonathan joined the family business in 1984 and became a Director and shareholder in 1986. His primary functions are the plant operations of the business and his creative flair for brand marketing.

Brace's have two bakeries, a state of the art bread plant bakery at Pen-y-fan producing 6,000 loaves per hour and Croespenmaen bakery producing bread, morning goods and Welsh cakes.   Brace's have depots at Crumlin, Ammanford, Bristol and Plymouth covering Wales and the south / south west of England.  Supply of Brace's products are made to all the major multiples including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and Morrisons and many smaller independent stores, taking the Brace's brand into over 3,000 stores.

Brace's employ over 350 people and has its own fleet of vehicles.  An Artic can hold 9,000 loaves and may go directly to the store or to one of our depots across Wales and the south / south west of England.  Brace's is committed to delivering the finest and freshest quality products and we aim to deliver product to store within four to 12 hours of baking. 

Brace's was the first bakery in the UK to receive the British Retail Consortium (BRC)  accreditation for excellent standards in bread manufacturing.

The Company has quadrupled in the last ten years and now proudly achieves a turnover of £35 million.
